Porteo is a smart card reader in the shape of a portable cardholder. Once the USB connector is unlocked, Porteo becomes a transparent smart card reader, compliant with industry standards (ISO 7816, PC/SC, CCID).
When on the go, Porteo acts as a cardholder: the transparent front allows the smart card's information to be visible (photo, name...). Moreover, as the smart card inserts completely, it is totally protected from external damages that can occur during mobile use (dust, scratches...). Porteo's technical architecture makes possible for a contactless smart card to be used without removing the card from the reader, allowing the smart card to be used freely while on the go (for mass transit smart cards, for instance).
Once the USB connector is unlocked, Porteo becomes a transparent smart card reader, that just needs to be plugged into the USB port of a computer in order to be immediately operational.
Teo by XIRING is a PC/SC and CCID compliant transparent smart card reader (class 1 reader) that meets USB 2.0 standard.
Teo by XIRING is an interface between a smart card and corresponding PC-applications. The reader reads all microprocessor cards (ISO 7816 1-4 compliant smart cards).
Teo by XIRING has all of the necessary certifications for a transparent smart card reader: Microsoft WHQL certified for Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Seven, compliant with Linux and Mac OS X environments; EMV 2000 Level 1; CE; FCC Part 15 Class B.
